Session Title: Building a Disaster Resilience Program

Session Description: This session will guide United Ways through a facilitated discussion and activities for those interested in developing a disaster resilience program that is relevant across all phases of the disaster cycle: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Many United Ways are deeply involved in long-term recovery efforts, and this discussion will also offer updates on federal programs and current trends in managing long-term recovery. It will highlight preparedness strategies that can be implemented across the United Way and 211 network and will share marketing and communications practices that help organizations communicate effectively across the full disaster cycle.

Session Title: Beyond Boundaries: Regional and Cross-Sector Collaboration in Disaster Response

Session Description: Disasters don’t respect boundaries, and neither should our response. This session explores how United Ways across the Southeast are strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and recovery through regional and cross-sector collaboration. Hear how United Way of East Tennessee Highlands coordinated a unified regional approach during Hurricane Helene, and how Trident United Way leveraged partnerships to reduce duplication and close service gaps. Participants will gain practical strategies to build and sustain collaborative networks, share resources, and translate “disaster mode” cooperation into everyday operations that make communities more resilient year-round.

Session Title: Raising More Together: Unlocking the Power of Volunteer-Led Fundraising

Session Description: As donor expectations evolve and United Ways seek new paths to relevance, volunteer-led fundraising offers a powerful way to strengthen community ownership and sustainability. This session will explore how United Ways are engaging executive and community volunteers to lead successful campaigns, expand reach, and build trust. Presenters will share real-world examples, frameworks, and lessons learned to help your organization launch or refine its own volunteer-driven fundraising model.
